From September 2021, the Bachelor Universitaire de Technologie (University Bachelor of Technology (B.U.T)) replaces the DUT and becomes the reference diploma for IUTs.

The GIM department offers highly multidisciplinary scientific and technological training, enabling
graduates to work on multi-technical industrial systems and equipment (mechanics, electricity,
automation, fluids, energy).
This department trains multi-skilled senior technicians capable of implementing preventive maintenance and continuous improvement of a company's production facilities.
Local specificity:
To take into account the strong regional presence of the pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries,
some practical work is carried out with equipment linked to these industries
to adapt the skills of young graduates to the local job market.
Students trained in this way will be able to find their place in the many local and national
industries, or continue their studies in a course focusing on the major
fields of these industries.

The aim of the University Bachelor of Technology (B.U.T) training program is to adapt the skills of young graduates to the local job market, and to develop technological knowledge and methods specific to the pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries.
On completion of the course, graduates will be able to :
- Contribute to the company's modernization, total product quality and maximum availability of production equipment by optimizing its management and mastering its technology.
- Participate in the installation, testing and upgrading of multi-technical systems, while managing safety issues and ensuring environmental protection.

Program
The course is divided into 6 semesters, with a specialization chosen from the 2nd year onwards, with the Chartres IUT offering the 2 national courses (ISP: Ingénirie des Systèmes Pluritechniques and 3MI: Management, Méthodes et Maintenance Innovante).
After the first 2 years of training, students can apply for the DUT GIM.

The GIM department is open to candidates holding the S, SSI, STI2D (all options), Bac. PRO, Diploma to Access University Studies (DAEU).
