From September 2021, the Bachelor Universitaire de Technologie (University Bachelor of Technology (B.U.T)) will become the reference diploma for IUTs.
The "Mechanical and Production Engineering" program prepares students for technical management positions in the production, applied research and service sectors. Graduates are generalists in mechanical engineering.

Skills
After a period of adaptation to the specifics of the company employing him/her, he/she must be able to :
- analyze and contribute to specifications,
- participate in the various stages of product design,
- analyze a production process in its design and implementation phases,
- take part in production preparation,
- monitor and make use of quality control and fine-tuning work in progress.
To achieve this, he is able to use communication tools in both technical and human fields.

Program
The study cycle is organized into 4 semesters (2 years) and includes 1,800 hours of supervised training, 180 hours of synthesis activities (tutored projects), 180 hours of automotive science and technology and 10 weeks of industrial internship (4th semester).
The courses are grouped into 4 Teaching Units (TU), made up of several modules:
- Teaching Unit 1 (UE1) covers product design,
- Teaching Unit 2 (UE2) covers industrialization and process management, enabling students to understand the industrial environment,
- Teaching Unit 3 (UE3) groups together cross-disciplinary and fundamental courses. It also develops communication and organizational skills in the managerial sense,
- Teaching Unit 4 (UE4) is a hands-on industrial experience. All the skills acquired and the student's sense of autonomy will be developed within the company.
This course includes both theoretical and practical teaching (15%* lectures, 25%* tutorials and 60%* practical work), and is open to all areas of Mechanical Engineering.

Admissions: On application for baccalaureate S, S option TI, STI (specialties: mechanical engineering, energy engineering, electronic engineering, electrical engineering, materials engineering) and for technician diplomas in electronics, electromechanics, mechanical manufacturing and physics.
