This Bachelor's degree offers a " Minerve Excellence pathway ". This is a selective " Under-Graduate Program ofexcellence", U-GPEx, part of 'MINERVE', the FRANCE 2030 project 'ExcellencES sous toutes ses formes' obtained by the Université d'Orléans. Based on the classic Bachelor's degree course(s), and anchored in the research community of universities and research organizations, this program offers training reinvented BY and FOR Research, with an awareness from the1st year of the Research approach, ultimately leading to a career as a research engineer or researcher through a doctorate.
This adapted course offers the opportunity to follow additional training to :
- Learn about the scientific process ;
- Understand the importance of Research and Innovation in meeting societal challenges;
- Discover the diversity of jobs related to research and innovation;
- Develop critical thinking skills and learn to manage controversy;
- Learn and master cutting-edge digital tools;
Students selected for the Minerve U-GPEx Excellence program will benefit from :
- A solid disciplinary foundation in the chosen degree course
- Gradual immersion in the world of Research and Innovation
- Personalized support to tailor the course to the student's ambitions
- Learning by doing" through practical projects
- An inter-, multi- and trans-disciplinary approach to skills acquisition and reinforcement

In addition to the Bachelor's and Master's degrees, the Minerve Master of Excellence program will lead to the award of an additional DU "Diplôme Universitaire Minerve" (Minerve University Diploma ).
The University Bachelor of Technology (B.U.T) in computer science provides a high-level general education in computer science, enabling students to envisage immediate professional integration in all areas of computer science.
It also gives access to various scientific Masters (Computer Science, MIAGE, etc.) in research, applied or specialized fields.
The Computer Science degree is divided into two courses in L3: Computer Engineering (ING) and Computer Methods Applied to Business Management (MIAGE). Both courses have a strong common core and a range of options enabling students to acquire real training in other disciplines (accounting, law, etc.).

Program
The Licence Informatique is a general bachelor's degree in computer science. Its curriculum is organized around three main areas of expertise: programming (programming, software engineering, databases); fundamental computing (language and automata theory, algorithms and combinatorics; logic and demonstration); architecture, systems and networks.
The Bachelor's degree in Computer Science takes three years to complete, with 500 hours of teaching per year. In the first semester, students enroll in a mathematics and computer science program. At the end of the first semester, students choose whether to pursue a major in computer science or a minor in computer science.
The second and third years constitute a real specialization in computer science. During the course, several projects prepare students for the demands of the professional world. During the course, internships enable students to come to grips with the realities of the corporate world (in France or abroad). They help students to consolidate their knowledge and skills for further study, and facilitate their integration into the world of work if they choose to stop their studies, as well as providing valuable experience for a first job.
Admission
Admission requirements
This Excellence Minerve Bachelor's program recruits in L1 with demanding criteria: an excellent disciplinary level is required, as well as a pronounced taste for Research and pluridiciplinarity, and a clear desire to pursue a career in Research, in particular via a doctorate.
- Apply in L1 on the "Excellence Minerve" portal/course of the chosen Licence via the " Parcoursup " or " Etudes en France " platform Selection will be based on the quality of the application and motivation for research and innovation.
- You can also apply for L2 and L3 (2nd and 3rd years of a Bachelor's degree) via the ecandidat platform in May of each year.
Access to Semester 1 is mainly offered to holders of a general baccalaureate or equivalent diploma. The preferred specializations are Mathematics and NSI. Access to the other semesters is open to students with another bachelor's degree or other higher scientific training, after examination of their application.
A number of bridges are provided, notably with short or vocational training courses (I.U.T., B.T.S., etc.), subject to a dossier examination. For the MIAGE pathway (access in semester 5), all students are recruited on the basis of their academic record.

Applicants for the Computer Science degree are expected to:
- Have c cientific skills
This specialization requires the ability to analyze, problematize and reason, the capacity for abstraction, logic and modeling, and mastery of a core of disciplinary knowledge and associated experimental methods.
- Communication skills
This specialization requires the ability to communicate both orally and in writing in a rigorous and appropriate manner, the ability to document in at least one foreign language, primarily English, and the ability to write and speak it at B level.
- Methodological and behavioral skills
This specialization requires intellectual curiosity, the ability to organize and manage learning, and the ability to plan personal work and stick to it over time.
In these main areas, and for all scientific bachelor's degrees, high-school students must demonstrate at least an adequate command of the main scientific skills targeted in their final year of high school.

A Bachelor's degree in computer science naturally gives access to professional or research Master's degrees in computer science. Our IT department has two Masters degrees:
- MIAGE: Méthodes Informatiques Appliquées à la Gestion des Entreprises,
- ARIAS: Distributed Applications, Artificial Intelligence and Security
Although we advise our students to go on to a Master's degree, with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science you can also apply for jobs as hot-liners, webmasters, developers, application managers, or even take a civil service entrance examination.
