Objectives
In the first year, in line with the principle of progressive specialization, enrolment in the Spanish bachelor's degree is complemented by a minor: Language Sciences (SDL), LLCER English or Humanities. In the first semester, this minor accounts for around a third of the weekly timetable. In the second semester, the share of this minor decreases.
At the end of the first year, you'll have the option of pursuing several different courses, depending on the minor you choose: Licence d'Etudes Hispanophones, Bilicence Etudes Hispanophones/Anglophones, Licence SDL, Licence Lettres.
From the L2 LLCER Etudes Hispanophones, the configuration of the degree opens the way to the following courses:
- Métiers de l'Enseignement, de l'Education et de la Formation (MEEF 2nd degré ou 1er degré)
- Linguistics and Didactics, French as a Foreign Language (FLE)
- Translation
- Intercultural Mediation
At the end of the three-year Bachelor's degree program, the validated diploma is the Bachelor's degree in Spanish, with mention of the chosen course.

Organization
Knowledge control
Semester 1
The various courses include lessons specifically devoted to the theoretical and practical aspects of the language, both written and oral. The aim is to revise and deepen the foundations acquired in secondary school.
In addition, courses devoted to the cultures of Spain and Spanish-speaking America are designed to provide a foundation of knowledge for further study.
Finally, French, English (with a choice of FLE) and methodology courses complete the curriculum.
In addition, the following courses are offered for the chosen minor
Semester 2 - Major LLCER Spanish
Semester 2 is organized along the same lines as the first semester. Language courses are a continuation of those already offered; courses focusing on the culture of Spanish-speaking countries now distinguish between Spanish civilization, the civilization of Latin American countries and literature (with no distinction of geographical area at this stage).
In addition to the various reinforcement courses offered in Semester 1, which have been maintained, students are invited to develop their career plans.
The structure of courses in L2 and L3 is roughly the same: several translation courses
(theme, version), oral practice and grammar.
Four cultural courses focusing on Spain (literature + civilization) and Latin America (literature + civilization) from the Middle Ages to the present day.
Depending on the semester, this core curriculum may be supplemented by introductory research courses, a cross-disciplinary project, an "UE d'ouverture", and so on. Finally, students take courses specific to their chosen path.
Special features
Additional online training on the Celene platform.
Introduction of a reading list follow-up project, international and professional project follow-up.
The UFR Lettres Langues et Sciences Humaines encourages mobility for all its students. There are several possibilities: study at a foreign university through the ERASMUS program or non-European exchanges, do an internship in a company abroad, or work as a language assistant with the CIEP (Centre International d'Etudes Pédagogiques).
Students can benefit from various types of grants to finance their mobility.
Program
The general bachelor's degree in Foreign and Regional Languages, Literatures and Civilizations is organized over 3 years (6 semesters-180 European credits). The first two semesters (=L1) enable progressive specialization, as described above. The final choice of degree is made when registering for the 2nd year. As you progress through the course of study, you can choose from a number of different pathways, leading to a number of Master's degrees (Bac + 5). The Orléans Bachelor's degree enables gradual specialization in the course of study, reorientation during the course of the degree, and anticipation of a possible future Master's degree, thanks to the courses set up from L2 onwards. Students can also take advantage of Erasmus exchanges to Spain and the many agreements linking our Department of Hispanic Studies to Latin America.
