Presentation
The Language Sciences (LSS) aim to describe and explain the functioning of human language in all its dimensions. They encompass a vast array of specialties, from phonetics to pragmatics, phonology, syntax, semantics, etc., not forgetting related fields born of the encounter between linguistics and other human sciences: psycholinguistics, sociolinguistics, language didactics.
A course of study in LLS prepares you for the professions corresponding to this range of subjects. In addition to the jobs offered by the training and education sectors (in particular through access to Masters courses preparing for the competitive examinations for schoolteachers and teaching professions), there are the growing demands of Information and Communication Technologies: data processing, information retrieval, speech recognition, etc.
The SDL degree at Orléans is one of the largest in France. It provides in-depth training in all linguistic disciplines, with specializations from the second year onwards in
- Français Langue Étrangère (FLE)
- MEEF 1er degré (Métiers de l'Enseignement, de l'Education et de la Formation)
- Linguistics and Numeracy
