Presentation

The Monnaie Banque Finance Assurance (MBFA) master's degree comprises two tracks: the Risk Management and Green Finance (GRFV) track, for initial training, and the Conseiller Professionnels et Gestion de
Patrimoine (CPGP) track, a work-study program in collaboration with the École supérieure de la banque (ESB).

The training model has two complementary objectives:

(i) a solid grasp of the fundamentals, thanks to high-level teaching provided by research professors and industry professionals recognized in their field;

(ii) in-depth, structured professionalization of the training curriculum, in particular by offering students the opportunity and favorable conditions for experiential learning, notably through professional projects, applications on IT tools, and professional conferences.

The CPGP program offers a complete cycle of work-study training in the professions of Professional Customer Adviser and Wealth Management (CPGP), in partnership with the École Supérieure de la Banque, accessible on completion of a bachelor's degree. In the first and second years of the Master's program, students alternate between academic and professional courses, and periods in the bank where they are placed in a professional situation and supervised by a company tutor.

The Master's curriculum approaches the business of professional clients from economic, regulatory and financial angles, with a parallel emphasis on the legal and tax aspects of wealth management for professionals. The program is based on fundamental and academic teaching in line with the level of expertise required for a 5-year degree in economics and finance. Specific courses enable students to grasp the risks and business opportunities specific to professional clients in all their dimensions. Graduates of this program thus combine the multi-disciplinary knowledge required for excellent integration into the banking and insurance sectors, as well as into the wealth management field. Academic training ensures that Master 2 graduates are well equipped to adapt to changing business conditions, with genuine prospects for horizontal and vertical mobility. In addition to the university master's degree, the training program also enables students to obtain a "CCPro" certificate, nationally recognized by the banking sector.

The acquisition of the technical and relational skills that make up the "toolbox" essential to mastering relations with business customers is offered both by the courses offered by the École supérieure de la banque (ESB) and by integration into the banking world. The work-study program, mainly carried out in a banking establishment, provides students with their first professional experience in this complex profession, ensuring their successful integration into the world of banking.

The aim of the program is to train students to be fully operational and competent for the positions of professional customer advisor and wealth manager as soon as they graduate, with a variety of career paths within banking and financial institutions (sales representative, business unit manager, wealth management, credit analysis, commitment manager, private banking-related professions, etc.).

Study organization

Students enter the CPGP Master's program at Master's level 1 for a two-year period. Students sign a paid employment contract (apprenticeship or professionalization contract) with the recruiting bank. Over the course of the two years, students alternate periods of two weeks in the bank and two weeks in training, either at the University (first semester) or at ES Banque (second semester).

Skills

The MBFA Master's program trains students whose knowledge is built on a solid scientific foundation in the fields of economics and finance. The main skills and competencies targeted in the CPGP pathway are as follows:

  •  In the event of a financing request from a company, assess the economic, financial and legal risks involved in granting credit, and verify the profitability of the operation for the bank.
  •  Analyze the acceptability of credit applications with regard to the quality of projects, the customer's financial situation and the mobilization of additional information
  • Identify investment objectives according to customers' priorities (seeking performance to increase value and build up capital, sensitivity to taxation, transmission objectives, integration of social and environmental aspects (CSR), etc.).
  •  Draw up a wealth analysis for each customer, proposing the legal and tax frameworks and products best suited to their risk profile and time horizon (life insurance, stock market portfolio, etc.).
  •  Determine and optimize an appropriate financial and investment strategy (purchase of securities, life insurance, investment in real estate assets, etc.). Present the opportunities and limits of the various investment options to the customer, according to his investor profile, and, if necessary, meet with other wealth management professionals to optimize strategies.
  •   Identify the risk level of assets held by customers and match it to the desired risk level
  •  Integrate techniques and environments specific to the banking and insurance sectors, through mastery of tools, knowledge of players and regulations in the core areas of the profession (for example, in the banking sector, sensitivity to issues related to deontology and compliance, regulatory players, techniques that may be subject to AMF-type certification, etc.).
  •  Make relevant sales proposals based on an overall assessment of the customer's financial situation, using a financial service or product tailored to the customer's needs.
  •  Determine daily results by product and product line (securities, rates, etc.) and draw up trend curve projections
  •  Continuous valuation of financial asset portfolios
  •  Monitor the balance of portfolio allocation (equities, bonds, etc.) according to desired profitability criteria
  •  Analyze financial information, integrating macroeconomic, fiscal, environmental, regulatory, societal and geopolitical developments that may impact markets, products and player behavior.
  •  Take stock of customers' tax situation in order to shape their wealth strategy
  •  Identify the need to renew securities/financial assets in the portfolio according to their development curve and financial market indices
  •  Understand the main actuarial techniques used by insurance actuaries to calculate insurance premiums and assess technical reserves.
  •  Integrate legal and tax developments
  •  Master the range of insurance products sold by insurers, know their legal, tax and contractual characteristics, and be able to offer customers the best product for their situation.
  •  Master the IT tools used in the banking and insurance sector
  •  Master the tools for advising and developing customer relations within a financial establishment, and master sales techniques.
  •  Master economic and financial English
  •  Managing and guiding a team

They are definitively acquired once the student has obtained an average grade, and are assigned a coefficient and European credits. Compensations are made over the semester on the basis of the overall average of grades obtained in the various teaching units, weighted by coefficients. Two assessment sessions are organized for each semester.
