The Earth and Planetary Sciences, Environment master's program is run by the Observatoire des Sciences de la Terre en région Centre(OSUC). It is supported by the OSUC's research laboratories, first and foremost theISTO (Institut des Sciences de la Terre d'Orléans). The Voltaire labex and thePlanex équipex support this training program.
BRGM (Bureau des recherches géologiques et minières) is a major player in the Master's program, participating in around 20% of the teaching in all the fields covered.

Knowledge control
Teaching units are assessed by continuous assessment and/or written and oral final exams. They are definitively acquired once the student has obtained an average grade, and are assigned a coefficient and European credits. Compensations are made over the semester on the basis of the overall average of grades obtained in the various teaching units, weighted by coefficients. Two assessment sessions are organized for each semester.

A curriculum characterized by solid field training: modules in field geology and/or environmental metrology are offered every semester in M1 and M2. See Training organization.
Enhanced geomatics skills: geographic information systems (GIS), 3D modeling, statistics/geostatistics, 3D modeling, predictivity). See Training organization.
A multi-disciplinary training and supervision team, involving the university, CNRS, BRGM, INRA and numerous players from the socio-economic world. Our Master's program benefits from a pedagogical partnership agreement with BRGM campus. See Partners and Training Team.
Strong international outlook: exchanges with Canada (UQAC, UQAM, UQAT), China (Univ. Nanjing), numerous Erasmus agreements (Munich, Palermo, Porto, Rome, Utrecht). Several Master's field schools are held abroad (Spain, Morocco, etc.). Some modules are taught in English. See International.

Admission requirements
Admission to M1:
Candidates are recruited on the basis of their application file, with the possibility of an interview.
Selection criteria are as follows:
- Sufficient level in the disciplines required for the Master's program.
- Sufficient mastery of fundamental skills.
- Student's personal/professional project consistent with the Master's program.
This is a limited-capacity or selective-access course.
Training accessible through validation of prior learning.
